Stephanie Sears, LCSW knows the college process can be very exciting. Students may also feel distress because they don't know where to start. Busy schedules, peer pressure, and learning to become more independent add to the turmoil. This is normal. Stephanie's goal is to give direction, reduce anxiety, and help make the process more enjoyable for families.
Every student has unique strengths and abilities. Stephanie's core belief is that it is important to stay true to oneself. Drawing upon her years of experience in the counseling field, she helps young people put their best self forward, working together through the college search, applications, essays, and interviews.
Stephanie has worked with young people for over twenty years, on both sides of the admissions process—as a college admissions representative, as a high school guidance counselor, and college consultant. Earlier in her career, she practiced clinical social work with adolescents and is currently an adjustment counselor in Quincy.
Although Massachusetts has been home for more than fifteen years, Stephanie has also lived and worked in southern California, Namibia, Botswana, and Kuwait. Because of her time abroad, she has a thorough knowledge of selective, alternative, and interesting colleges and universities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East.
