Catherine Rein, LICSW

Director of Human Resources

Catherine is interested in supporting Center clinicians so they can provide excellent care for individuals, families and children.

Background & Qualifications

Catherine comes to the Center after a long career as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts. In her work at the Center, she brings that knowledge and experience as she returns to an earlier role in Human Resources. After earning her first master’s degree in counseling (M.Ed.), she was hired as Assistant Director of Personnel at St. John’s University in New York. There she helped survey staff, develop job descriptions and match candidates to the best positions for them, followed by working to integrate new staff into the university community.

Despite enjoying this administrative position, Catherine chose to deepen her therapeutic skills by earning a master’s in clinical social work degree (MSW) at Smith College. This brought her to Massachusetts and the greater Boston area which she has called home since 1980.

Catherine worked with children and families throughout her career. She began in a community mental health center for families and children and added work in a group private practice for almost two decades. In 1999, she moved her work to school settings, and served Hingham Public Schools as a School Adjustment Counselor for over twenty years.

Having retired from full-time work in the schools, Catherine is now interested in supporting Center clinicians so they can provide excellent care for individuals, families and children. She combines her administrative skills at hiring and integrating staff, with her clinical knowledge and awareness of the pressing need for quality, available, local mental health services.
