Kindness, Courage and Acts of Generosity Lead Us to Hope
As we face perhaps what is the greatest challenge the globe has seen since the Spanish Flu, I want to lend a perspective that I believe is important and powerful. It is all too easy to be absorbed with the 24/7 news cycle and feel frightened and overwhelmed.
We are however, seeing the positive side of humanity come through, the ingenuity of innovation, the contributions of many giving in their own way, of the refocus music and art provide.
I have seen beautiful video clips of people having birthday parades by automobile, of communities cheering someone on, of Berkeley School of Music students digitally presenting “What the World Needs Now Is Love Sweet Love”, people sewing masks at home, home based 3D printers producing plastic face shields, large corporations quickly retooling factories to manufacture respirators, neighbors taking care of each other, signs on homes lending hearts and belief, parents becoming teachers, teachers of so many important lessons……
Altruism and the love we express for others by doing our own small part is how we empower ourselves to marshall our energy and direct ourselves forward with positive purpose. It is through acts of kindness, courage, and generosity that lead us to hope.
We literally must come together for the common good of humanity and each other. You will feel better if you focus on Kindness, courage and acts of generosity today and everyday.
Then we will feel hope…..
