Her experience in medical social work has increased Emily’s understanding that a client’s environment, as well as physical medical challenges, are integral to the therapeutic process.
Background & Qualifications
Emily incorporates a strength-based and holistic approach, adapting treatment based on the client’s needs. She draws from therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, grief counseling, motivational interviewing, and play therapy in her sessions. Emily also integrates gentle humor, creativity, and other holistic-based practices. Her goal is to ensure that therapy does not feel like an extra task in the day but rather to a meaningful relationship that can be engaging, healing, and empowers clients to apply skills outside of sessions.
Emily appreciates family centered work and understands navigating certain systems such as healthcare, work, and school environments can be challenging when faced alone.
Emily received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont in Clinical Social Work and her master’s degree from Boston College with a specialization in Clinical Social Work with Children, Youth and Families.
