
Kevin Moore, LMHC
Kevin Moore, LMHC, takes a person-centered and empathic approach in forming trusting relationships with clients, while utilizing modalities including CBT, ACT and mindfulness. Kevin aims to establish a strong therapeutic alliance while also assisting each client in developing insight into their struggles and identifying steps toward making positive changes in their lives.
Kevin is a skillful counselor with more than a decade of experience working at outpatient mental health care centers. He also received specialized training in work with people with a variety of health issues, aging clients and those transitioning from more intensive care to outpatient counseling. He has treated clients with a wide range of presenting problems including OCD and sleep disorders as well as depression, anxiety, ADHD and relationship problems. He works with adults ranging from late adolescence and early adulthood to the elderly.
Background & Qualifications
Kevin is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked in the field for over 12 years. Kevin earned his master’s degree in mental health counseling at UMass Boston. He completed clinical training at McLean Hospital’s Sage program where he worked with elderly clients who transitioned from inpatient to partial hospitalization. He completed his internship at Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (formerly Massachusetts Hospital School) where he worked with adolescents with a variety of severe neurodevelopmental conditions. Kevin has experience working with adults and adolescents with a range of mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, ADHD, insomnia, grief and stress related disorders. In addition to the modalities mentioned above, Kevin utilizes therapeutic approaches including CBT, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, ERP and CBT-I for insomnia. Kevin is a warm and skillful counselor committed to the care of his clients.
