Tamara approaches therapy by listening closely to and addressing the concerns that clients bring to her, providing a compassionate space to address their needs. She encourages clients to take ‘baby steps’, quieting the inner critic and celebrating each gain. She values helping clients feel heard and understood so that together they can partner in the work to reach their goals. Tamara brings humor along with genuine warmth, empathy and creativity as she builds a strong rapport with each person.

Utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), client centered therapy, inner child healing and solution focused therapy, she keeps the client at the center of her care. Tamara has gained clinical experience through work in a range of community programs including a partial hospitalization program for patients struggling with eating disorders and other psychiatric disorders, experience working with people addressing underlying substance abuse problems, and as a home-based therapist for children and families.

Tamara earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She earned a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
